Project Elevate is a Black-led initiative focused on creating lasting opportunities and expanding pathways into construction, urban development, and the built environment for Black communities across Metro Vancouver. Through education, industry connection, advocacy, and access, Project Elevate works to strengthen representation, leadership, and economic participation within sectors that have historically excluded Black communities.

about Project Elevate 〰️
Business & Career Advancement
We’re creating pathways for Black businesses and tradespeople to connect with opportunities in construction and urban development. Our work includes strengthening supplier diversity, creating connections between Black businesses and major contractors, and developing opportunities for business and career advancement.
Project Elevate is building a network of Black professionals, businesses, students, tradespeople, contractors, and community partners working across the built environment. Whether you’re looking to connect, collaborate, or learn more about our work, there are opportunities to get involved.
Education & empowerment
Through experiential learning, networking, and partnerships with youth-focused organizations, we’re helping build pathways into the field.
Project Elevate is creating opportunities for students and emerging professionals to learn about careers from established Professionals and Contractors in the built environment. Connect youth with more folks working in the industry helps secure their future!
black-led DEVELOPMENT PROJECT ELEVATE + MAIN & UNION
Hogan’s Alley Society is leading the redevelopment of the Main & Union site into a mixed-use housing and cultural hub that redresses historic injustices faced by Black communities in Vancouver. Main & Union is a community-rooted housing and cultural redevelopment project located at 796 Main Street— the former site of Vie’s Chicken and Steak House, a key landmark in Vancouver’s historic Hogan’s Alley. Project Elevate supports the goals of Main + Union by creating pathways for Black businesses and professionals to participate in construction and urban development opportunities that arise during the completion of this project.
